I wanted to write a playbook on my SEO method but honestly, it can be one long blog post. So this is what that is. This will be a guide that I refer back to and share with others. So Enjoy.
I learned how to rank content from Nick Jordan. Follow him on Twitter.
The process is simple. Search for keywords in your niche using Ahrefs, SEMRush, etc, and then use a keyword cluster tool like Cluster AI, or Keyword Cupid (haven’t used this one yet).
The keyword cluster tool will show you which H2’s and H3s go with the H1 keyword.
Nick’s team goes over this in more detail here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--x40ip-3hU and here https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL8hgs7nICHhdO3VeznOSOqqHnGYNzuxVg&v=XJAiDDr98ps
The clustered keywords are H2/H3 while the main keyword is your H1.
This gives you a solid content outline to start with. Then you fill in the H2/H3s.
I use a tool called MarketMuse or Frase which helps show me what keywords need to be included + the appropriate content length compared to other similar posts.
To show how this process works I did a live tweet session:
Now with ChatGPT and similar AI writing tools, you can have AI write the H2/H3. Just make sure to use a rephrasing tool like wordtune or quillbot so you don’t get penalized from serps.
Nick suggests that you add bullet points and numbers throughout your post. He wrote a content guide which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Fz8M_dsobtXUHy56SzshZ6IPhZ93OPv2zmznKt67I04/edit?usp=sharing
I follow that pretty closely.
Nick was gracious enough to write a 7k word document on his process which can be reviewed here:
But other than that, that's it. Find the keywords, find the clusters, fill in h2/h3, and add images, bullet points, and internal links and you can publish at least 1 blog post per day easily.
This process took Cartfuel blog (fresh domain) from 0 clicks per day to about 30 per day with only about 20 articles. It works. Now time to scale up.
